Dr Moses Batwala

IVF Consultant

Dr Moses Batwala is a Consultant in Gynaecology, Reproductive Medicine and Surgery.

He qualified from the University of Leeds attaining his Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) in 2001. He became a Diplomat of the Faculty of Reproductive and Sexual Health (DFRSH) in London in 2005 and a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecology (MRCOG) in 2009.

He completed his Consultant training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, receiving his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in 2013 from the South Yorkshire Deanery in Sheffield. He then embarked on a Clinical Research Fellowship in Infertility and Reproductive Medicine and Masters of Science (MSc) at the University of Oxford in 2013. As a Researcher at University of Oxford, he has organised multicentre studies in his particular area of interest “Quality of Life (QoL)” of Couples undergoing infertility treatment and “Health Economics” of fertility treatment. His interests and research work has led him to collaborate with Merck Serono (manufacturers of Gonal-F), and he has delivered presentations at the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) Conferences.

He is also a keen Ultra-Sound Sonographer with “HyCoSy and Saline Sonography” to investigate the fallopian tubes and the endometrial cavity as part of fertility investigation and treatment. He is an active member of the British Fertility Society (BFS).

Outside medicine, he is the Vice President of “Doctors for Africa” a charity involved in improving lives of pregnant women in Africa. He is a keen runner, and races every year to raise money for different charities through the “Tough Mudder” fun obstacle endurance runs.
