My IVF journey after ectopic pregnancy
"I was diagnosed with PCOS in my 20s and I’ve had really irregular periods since I got my first period in school."
When my husband and I tried to conceive when I was around 25 or 26 years old, after more than two or three years of trying We weren't able to conceive naturally, apart from the one ectopic pregnancy I had. After I had the ectopic pregnancy, I had my left fallopian tube removed, we then tried for another year and there was no result. So we went to the GP for help mainly because I hadn't had a period for 10 months consecutively. They referred me to the NHS gyne for blood tests and to see whether I ovulated or not. In the end the results showed that it would be hard for me to conceive. So they have referred me to do IVF at a private clinic .

We were sent different options. We were looking online for different reviews and testimonials and we found that CREATE fertility suited us best.
My first consultation and scan was with the Oxford Clinic and I've been telling them how good they are. Pauline. Bridget. I can't forget them because they're just so lovely. They treated me well. They explained everything thoroughly. I was the type of person who doesn't search on the Internet, actually, regarding IVF or different options, I just got all the information from them.
In the initial consultation with the doctor she explained each step of the IVF process and it made me feel at ease knowing all the information, so it was a good experience for me.

Although I've already had some experience with some parts of IVF as my sister went through the same thing, there were some parts that felt a bit scary for me. Mainly it was the injections and medications, but it was actually all right. I didn't quite like it, but I got used to it as I went along.
Throughout the process the scans were so good. As I said, I can't fault the Oxford team, because it was them who made me feel very at ease with my treatment and I felt that when I needed support they were just one e-mail away .They're very friendly and very professional as well. When I had my treatment everyone made me feel at ease.

When I found out I was pregnant I was really happy and nervous at the same time. They're quite reassuring during the scans, but they've also managed my expectations.

That was the good thing about them, although they're reassuring during treatment and they give you hope, they're realistic too.
I can't think of anything I'd want to improve, my whole experience was great. I’ve already recommended CREATE to my friends who are at my age and are looking for a private fertility treatment.
Advice I'd give to other women and couples seeking fertility treatment is to take it one step at a time. You'll need lots of patience and understanding for both partners.
The well-being of your partner as well or yourself really matters. Be wary of your partner's emotional side of things as well.
Also family support makes a lot of difference during the journey so sharing it with your family is important.
