On Sunday 12th May, over 50 IVF families gathered for a celebration that marked 35 years since the birth of the world’s first IVF baby. Following the unfortunate passing of the father of IVF, Sir Robert Edwards CBE, the event, labelled the ‘Baby Party’, highlighted the advances in IVF since its arrival.
Families from all over the UK that had benefited from the use of IVF were invited to meet, greet and share their own personal stories as families and practitioners come together. Organised by us here at CREATE Fertility, families received information, advice and fertility and treatment planning support amid the celebrations.
Celebrating Advancements
Women in their 40’s, who would never usually be able to successful conceive, often consider tough choices when it comes to choosing the right fertility options. With our expert guidance, we have brought happiness and stability to families throughout the country.
The ‘baby party’, which took place at the Polka Theatre in Wimbledon, allowed children to play and enjoy a whole host of entertainment. Professor Dr. Geeta Nargund, a global figure and pioneer of Natural and Mild IVF proclaimed the event a ‘coming together’ for all involved.
Pioneering IVF & Fertility Treatments
Before the event, Dr Nargund, explained that, “In the 35th anniversary year since the first IVF baby was born, and following the sad passing of Professor Sir Robert Edwards, this is an opportunity for women and families to share their experiences with each other.”
“This felt like the right time to bring people together and I am delighted to welcome so many families, that we have helped, to our baby party. We pride ourselves on providing an ethical and successful service centred on protecting the health and welfare of both the mother and child.”
