Professor Geeta Nargund

CREATE Fertility was founded in 2000 by the renowned and award-winning fertility expert Professor Geeta Nargund - a pioneer and world leader in the field of Natural and Mild IVF and Advanced Ultrasound Technology in Reproductive Medicine.

Professor Nargund founded CREATE Fertility because of her mission to reduce the physical and emotional burden of treatment and lower the risks of Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS) and related health risks to women undergoing IVF treatment led to her research in Natural, Natural Modified and Mild IVF treatments. She published the first paper on the use of “One-Stop Fertility Diagnosis” using Advanced Ultrasound Technology, as well as the first scientific paper on “cumulative live birth rates using Natural Cycle IVF”. She has published extensively in scientific journals and is also a regular contributor to commentaries and debates in the media. She started a global scientific society ISMAAR to advance the mission of “Less is More” and “Quality and not Quantity” in IVF, alongside other renowned international scientific leaders. She has continued to publish peer-reviewed research to demonstrate that equivalent success rates can be achieved with Mild IVF whilst reducing the treatment burden and side-effects for women compared to Conventional IVF.

Professor Nargund’s approach has led to the creation of thousands of babies and the reduction in severe OHSS across the world. She emphasises that the welfare and safety of the woman undergoing IVF treatment is as important as the success of treatment when measuring outcomes. She continues to campaign in the UK for including the “welfare and safety of the woman” alongside the “welfare of the child” in the HFEA Act. She is a campaigner for equal and fair access to IVF on the NHS and is proud that Create fertility has been serving NHS patients in many regions in England for more than a decade.

Professor Nargund left CREATE Fertility on 30th June 2025, and no longer works for the company. She continues to serve on the Board of the HFEA, the UK’s fertility regulatory body.
