Dr Liatsikos graduated from the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece where he also completed a PhD on the genetics of congenital uterine malformations. His specialist training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology was in the University Hospital of Alexandroupolis.

Prompted by his interest in human reproduction, he then moved to the UK and completed a fellowship at the Centre for Reproductive Medicine and Fertility of Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. There he developed special research and clinical interests in Recurrent Miscarriage, Assisted Conception and Reproductive Surgery. A clinical fellowship in Reproductive Medicine at St George's University Hospital of London gave him the opportunity to expand his knowledge in the diagnosis and management of subfertility and acquire skills in advanced fertility ultrasound. Since 2012, he has been constantly practising as a Consultant in Reproductive Medicine in London and Bristol, advocating personalised care to his patients.

Spiros has acquired extensive experience in the treatment of women with low ovarian reserve and recurrent implantation failure. He implements advanced ultrasound technology (including Doppler and 3D imaging) in the diagnosis and treatment of subfertility. He has an excellent embryo transfer technique resulting in high success rates.

Dr Liatsikos is a member of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. He is accredited trainer for the British Fertility Society modules in Infertility, Assisted Conception, Pelvic Ultrasound and Embryo Transfer. He has published innovative research on Gynaecology and Reproduction in international journals and has authored chapters in scientific textbooks. He has attended numerous international meetings, in some of them as invited speaker.
